Khalid Aboujassoum

CEO

Khalid is passionate about entrepreneurship, education technology, and turning ideas into tangible realities. He competed in the Stars of Science TV competition, a unique initiative by Qatar Foundation to encourage, enable and promote the next generation of pan–Arab innovators. He won the competition and was designated as the “Star of Science” of 2012 for his innovative product “Tahi”

.

In 2011, Khalid won first prize in the Innovation Theater business competition during the QITCOM Exhibition and Conference. As a result, he and his team were granted incubation services at ictQatar (Qatar Information Technology and Communications Council). Since then, Khalid has established ibTECHar Technologies to further develop educational technologies that interconnect knowledge and put that interconnection itself into a realistic context.

While working on commercializing Tahi, Khalid is currently focusing on taking his experience in Stars of Science to expand the boundaries of ibTECHar’s activities to further promote and encourage innovation in educational technologies. Khalid believes that in a knowledge-based economy our educational activities have to change from the grassroots, involving teachers, parents, policy makers, and students.  This is a belief that he is happy to apply on a daily basis with his three children.

He is an occasional keynote speaker and has spoken at TEDxYouth@Doha 2011 and TEDxQatarUniversity, sharing his thoughts about the process of turning ideas into tangibles. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science in Computer Engineering, Engineering Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Ottawa.
